A new region for tech giants is opening up - in Spain.  Each is planned to be available ahead of schedule and is expected to be inaugurated in mid-2022.  It will allow customers and partners to run workloads and store data in a flexible and secure way in Spain.

The new data center availability zones and regions in Spain, which has the certification of the National Security Scheme, will promote the digital transformation of Spanish companies and organizations thanks to the possibility, not only of storage, but of greater control of data in the cloud, lower latency and a region fully certified in regulatory compliance for the application development and cloud architecture deployment.

What benefits immediate will this opening bring? Access that is much closer to advanced cloud technology, from computer services, storage or databases to developments with Artificial Intelligence, IoT and Machine Learning. They will help drive innovation and digital transformation for startups, SMEs and large companies.

Changing the way of working

Although many companies are already taking advantage of cloud services, the new region will facilitate the adoption of these tools for companies and organizations in Spain. For example, the education sector, with programs Academy and Educate they will be able to get computer studies and hands-on labs in the cloud.

For the non-profit sector It will also be good news, since through the different support programs, they will be able to implement cloud technology to reduce their costs and accelerate their altruistic objectives and missions.

In addition, and in order to create job opportunities, each has unique job recruitment and talent development.  All this in collaboration with the Clúster IDiA de Aragón to promote access to technology.  The region hosts a number of availability zones located at different points to guarantee business continuity, even in the event of failures.

Commitment to sustainability

Currently there is a sustainable commitment towards the development of 4 solar projects in Spain, with the first project being the Alcalá de Guadaira solar park, in Seville.  This year the new solar plant in Zaragoza is expected to be inaugurated and, in addition, there are two more projects in Andalusia and Extremadura.  With more tech companies in Spain, it opens a new opportunity to existing technology transformation companies for all sectors to work within a more efficient cloud or hybrid environment.
